Karl den Besten || Managing Director

“Hi, I’m Karl. I’ve been with Groku (which acquired Harstra in 2023) since 1996, starting as a cost estimator, then moving to general manager, and since 2015, I’ve been the managing director.

What I love most about my role is its variety – I connect different parts of the company, working closely with employees, customers, and suppliers. Right now, I’m focused on preparing Harstra machines for the North American market and exploring the possibilities of our new ERP software.

Outside of work, I enjoy working in my garden. And when winter comes, you’ll find me chopping firewood—it keeps me feeling young!

My favorite quote: “When ‘had to’ comes, ‘having’ is too late.” This Dutch saying highlights the importance of acting on time—if you postpone what needs to be done, you might find yourself in trouble later. A good way to phrase it in English would be: “Had you acted sooner, you wouldn’t be in need now.”

Meet the M45B: a flexible alternative to the M45

The M45 dries up to 45 masks per cycle—perfect for dedicated mask drying.

But the M45B goes further, handling SCBAs, masks, or a combination of both. With built-in stainless steel hang-up racks, it easily accommodates 6 SCBAs or mixed loads like 3 SCBAs and 18 masks.

If you need more than just mask drying, the M45B might just be the perfect fit!

Seamless PPE handling with Harstra’s Trolleys

Move freshly washed PPE effortlessly with the AM20 and AM22 trolleys—designed to work perfectly with the M45 and M45B drying cabinets.

Load up to five baskets of masks or SCBAs, roll them into place, and slide them into the cabinet without heavy lifting. Once drying is complete, unloading is just as easy.

Here’s a quick overview:

the AM20: Comes without baskets—ideal if you already use A03 baskets.
the AM22: Includes five A03 baskets for a ready-to-use solution.

Both models feature stainless steel construction and smooth-rolling castors for effortless handling.
